The image is after a red chalk drawing from the great master Michelangelo Buonarotti (1475-1564), “Study of the Nude Youth Over the Prophet Daniel for the Sistine Chapel Ceiling”. I’ve rearranged the pose slightly and brought in an abstract landscape and changed the medium rendered into oil paints.

Oil paints used to create the above image are Winsor & Newton Artist grade oil paints. The colors used are Permanent Rose, Cadmium Scarlet, Indian Red, Cadmium Lemon, Cadmium Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Viridian, Winsor Blue (Red Spectrum), Prussian Blue, Ivory Black and Titanium White. I hope you enjoy this image.
